A head spa is not a scalp massage with a shampoo added on.
The term covers a complete scalp treatment: consultation, deep cleansing, active scalp therapy, and — in a properly equipped space — water immersion therapy that most people have never experienced before.
What actually happens
It starts with a consultation. Scalp condition, hair type, any sensitivities. The treatment that follows is matched to what the scalp actually needs, not what a menu assumes it needs.
The cleansing phase removes product buildup, sebum, and the pollution load that Bangkok air deposits on the scalp every day. Standard shampoo does not do this. The products used are cosmetic-grade scalp treatments applied with technique and timing that a shower cannot replicate.
The water therapy component
At Care 22, the signature element is ring water therapy — a recirculating warm water stream applied directly to the scalp in a sealed environment. The effect is immediate: the scalp softens, tension releases, and the pressure most people carry across the crown and into the neck dissipates in a way that massage alone does not achieve.
Most clients describe the sensation as the closest thing to complete decompression they have felt.
Who is it for
Anyone with a scalp — which is to say, everyone. The most common visitors are people who have never had a head spa before, came out of curiosity, and book again within the week. But it draws equally from people with specific concerns: dryness, oiliness, sensitivity, or years of product buildup.
It is not a gender-specific service. The conversation around it skews male in Bangkok right now because grooming culture is growing quickly here, but the treatment itself was developed for everyone.
After the treatment
The scalp feels clean in a way that is different from post-shampoo clean. Lighter. Less tense across the top of the head. Hair sits differently for a few days — most clients notice it the next morning when they run their hands through their hair.
The full Head Spa treatment at Care 22 takes 60 minutes and is available as a standalone booking. It is our signature service, and the one thing we would recommend to anyone who has not yet tried it.
