Ring Water Therapy in Bangkok — What It Is and What to Expect

Monday, March 23, 2026

If you’ve come across the phrase “ring water therapy” and weren’t sure what it means, you’re not alone. It’s one of those terms that sounds clinical but describes something surprisingly simple — and surprisingly effective.

What ring water therapy actually is

Ring water therapy uses a specialised circular basin that fits around the back of the head. Warm water flows through the ring in a continuous, recirculating stream, bathing the scalp in sustained warmth and gentle pressure at the same time.

The client lies reclined, the basin in place, while the therapist works through the scalp with the water flowing continuously. Unlike a standard shampoo where water is applied and removed quickly, ring water therapy keeps the scalp wet and warm for an extended period — typically 15–20 minutes of the treatment.

Why it works

The sustained warmth does two things: it softens the scalp tissue and opens the follicles, making the cleansing products significantly more effective. And it releases tension that builds across the crown, temples, and into the neck — the same tension most people carry without realising it.

Most clients describe a shift in how the top of the head feels after about five minutes. The tightness that is so constant it became invisible starts to release. By the end of the water sequence, the scalp feels lighter in a way that’s difficult to describe until you’ve experienced it.

What to expect at Care 22

At Care 22, ring water therapy is the central element of the Head Spa treatment. The full 60-minute session includes a scalp consultation, a deep cleansing phase using professional-grade scalp products, the ring water therapy sequence, and a finishing treatment.

The water temperature is adjusted to your preference. The pressure of the flow can be modified. It is not a loud or intense experience — most clients close their eyes and stay that way until the session ends.

The Head Spa is 799 ฿ for 60 minutes. It runs on Sukhumvit Soi 22, steps from the Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park and Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit. Book your session here.
